Useful swaps
- Use peanut butter: Stir 10 g peanut butter with 5 g maple, 0.6 g cinnamon, and 3 g lemon for 45 seconds. Cut 80 g apple into eight wedges and coat with 2 g lemon. Spread the peanut mixture over every wedge, press on 5 g chopped pecans and 25 g oats, and serve or pack chilled in one layer. Remains vegan. Replaces almond with peanut but retains tree nuts from pecans. Calories and protein remain close with a more roasted flavor.
- Use pear and pistachio: Stir 10 g almond butter with 5 g maple, 0.6 g cinnamon, and 3 g lemon for 45 seconds. Cut 80 g firm pear into eight wedges and coat with 2 g lemon. Spread the almond mixture over each wedge, press on 5 g chopped pistachios and 25 g oats, and serve chilled. Remains vegan. Contains tree nuts from almond and pistachio. Pear is slightly softer and sweeter while calories and protein stay similar.
